"Whoopie". A three year attempt at creating a Phoenix Graft bonsai using a juniper stump, and a Ficus Hili as the living portion. This canopy has never developed as I had envisioned, so I am redoing it using a small juniper.

First, the Dale Cochoy pot is emptied and cleaned.

Photos of the bottom of the deadwood and the composite plate that the deadwood is fashioned to. The deadwood had to be cleaned, and portions that had been under the soil show signs of deterioration, all punky wood is cleaned off and prepared for a  treatment of Minwax wood hardener, and  an application of lime-sulpher.
