55. RULING: Field goal play with the linebacker directly behind the defensive tackle. (a) B 1/10 B20. It is not a foul to push a teammate into an opponent. (b) A 1/Goal B5. It is a blocking below the waist foul if the contact by the teammate against the opponent is below the waist during a down in which there is a kick from a scrimmage kick formation.
56. RULING: Team A's field goal attempt crosses the neutral zone and rebounds behind the neutral zone. (a) B 1/10 B20. The ball was untouched by Team B after the kick crossed the neutral zone and the ball was declared dead beyond the neutral zone. (b) B 1/10 B8. A Team B player muffed the ball after the kick crossed the neutral zone. (c) A 1/Goal B5. Postscrimmage kick enforcement does not apply in extra periods and not for a try. (d) Series ends as the penalty is declined.
57. RULING: Team A's field goal attempt does not cross the neutral zone. (a) A 4/Goal B1. The 15-yard penalty for Team B's batting foul is enforced half the distance from the previous spot. (b) A 4/Goal B2. Team A and Team B committed live ball fouls prior to a change of team possession. The fouls offset. The penalties cancel. The down is replayed. (c) Safety. Team B imparted new impetus but did not commit a batting foul. The kick became dead when it touched the ground in Team B's end zone. (d) Safety. 58. RULING: Team A is in a scrimmage kick formation to attempt a field goal. (a) B 1/10 50. The advances by the two Team B players are legal. (b) Touchdown. All action by the holder was legal since he lifted his knee immediately after the kicker faked the kick. (c) B 1/10 B23. The ball became dead when the kick hit the ground in B's end zone. 59. RULING: The try is from B's 3 and from the middle of the field. (a) A try B1 or behind - anywhere between hash marks. The 15-yard penalty is enforced half the distance from the end of the run, B's 2. Team A may put the ball in play on or behind B's 1 and anywhere between the hash marks. (b) A try B1-1/2 or behind - anywhere between hash marks. The 5-yard penalty is enforced half the distance from the previous spot. Team A may put the ball in play on or behind B's 1-1/2 and anywhere between the hash marks. (c) A try B3 or behind - replay - previous spot. The ball must be replayed from the previous spot, midddle of the field, following offsetting fouls. (d) A try B3 or behind - anywhere between hash marks. After the timeout, Team A may put the ball in play on or behind B's 3 and anywhere between the hash marks provided Team A has not fouled since the try started.
