While getting ready for any trip you will probably spend quite a bit of time on the web looking for all sorts of information on biking either here in the US and overseas.

Take a look at some of these and if you have good bike or travel links you'd like to share, send them on and I'll post them. If you have your own web site, send me your URL and I'll post it here. I just ask that you return the favor and post mine on your site.

 

           

SITES WITH JOURNALS
  Story of two women crossing the USA   David Dermott's Canadian journal pages   E-Mag chronicling several trips
  Martin Newstead's page describing a journey he made from New York to Los Angeles mostly by bicycle in 1990.   A great site with tons of info on biking to include journals for trips in Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand.    For info on Singapore, click here.   A Journals 'R Us type of site with travel Stories from all over the world.  great place to do some reading
   Clyde Franklin's site with many journals and links   Good info available here if you want to cycle in Tasmania   Robert's on-line bike tour reports.  He's done three cross country trips!

Downloadable destination guides, farefinder, on-line reservations   Trento Bike pages from Italy. Excellent resource for info on Eurpean biking (and also Australia!) Excellent!   Adventure Cycling. Need I say more?
Cycling Australia! Great site!   European Maps   Velo Net global cycling network. Links, groups, worldwide email lists. Nice!
Encyclopedia Britannica's Monstrous searchable database of any country's geography and culture   Travel site chock full of what you need to plan a tripA primarily commercial site broken down by destination, interests, activities, price CIA factbook with oodles and gobs of facts about world countries
  Giant database of hostels around the world   Commercial bike tour org specializing in Portugal, Canadian Maritime provinces, New England, Spain, Ireland   Lonely Planet.  Excellent site for finding travelling partners, has fantastic country by country guide, too!
  Acollection of  bikers'  experiences
with planes, trains, buses, boats, etc. Lots of
info on rentals, folding bikes, boxes, airlines, and trainds around the world and how to ride in/out of about 120 airports
  Another great trip planning site not for cyclists only.  Flight planning, airport maps, transportation options, interactive city maps, and advice on where to stay Kolotour Bicycle Holidays, offers bicycle tours in Austria, the Czech
Republic and Slovakia. 

 

INT'L BIKING
Just that, an index with thousands of links, ride lists, riding buddies   Commercial site that sells bike tour packages.   Some good info there.   Cyclist Touring Club with lots of info about biking in the UK
Great folks, fine service, nice shop, help cross country cyclists    Mountain Biking in Portugal Bike in Italy
  Rupert's trip to Poland, Russia, China, Asia.   Although a hiker, the info he provides is priceless   Sean Connolly's travelougues from voyages around the world.  WOW!!!  Visit Erhard's site documenting  much of his 2-month trip in Patagonia.
